Thanks to all of you who participated in the farm cleanup last Saturday! Thanks to your efforts, we were able to clear not only 104 Moore Street, but also the backyard behind 106 Moore Street. The owner gave us permission to haul out years worth of trash, and we hope that she will also agree to let us farm the backyard as well, adding several hundred square feet to our farm.
106 Moore Street is also getting a new retail tenant -- a fried chicken place. And while it may not be the healthiest food on the planet, the renovated space will add some vitality and light to the block, especially in the evening, and that's good thing.
Thanks to Community Board 1 for working with us to coordinate a trash pick-up by the Sanitation Department (fingers crossed)!
