I was hoping to have some updated photos of the market renovations for you, but it's all taking place behind the construction walls! Bathroom number one should be in renovation mode starting today.
We had a great project meeting with NYC EDC, Turner Construction and the architect yesterday and everything is moving along as planned, for an early April completion date.
So of course, I got to take a "behind the scenes" tour and it is amazing how much space we gained by taking down stalls number 23 and 24 (right by the Humboldt Street entry)! I am very excited about the changes that will emerge over the next few weeks.
The construction has sparked a lot of interest from potential vendors. I am hoping that a new Mexican Restaurant is in the works, if the entrepreneur can pull everything together to make it happen.
I think that Councilwoman Diana Reyna will be very pleased by the work her funduing supported!
